Something different...

Here is something that I have been working on in the last few weeks. I am doing lots of crafting and making lots of thing to go into my new misi shop and also for a craft fair that I am doing at the beginning of December I am so looking forward to this as it is different to what I have previously done with just making cards - I am making covered notebooks, stamping on candles and stamping on photo frames all with a card to match what I have made! There has been quite a lot of interest and I will be doing classes for these in the near future. So watch this space!
So here is an example of a stamped photo frame and card to match... I have used the stamp set vintage vogue and the colours regal rose and old olive I hope you like it and if you would like more information on my classes email me...
I have stamped the vine from vintage vogue around the edge of the frame and then added the flowers to this in the two sizes that come in the stamp set. To decorate these flowers I have added pearls to the centre and attached these using tombow glue. I have made the card using the same colours and ink. I have stamped onto a piece of very vanilla card and stamped the vine to the right hand side of the card - some of them I have stamped off a little and then decoupaged the flowers in the middle of the card and again added pearls to decorate!
I hope you like them and thanks for looking! Debbi x x x

last weeks class...

Where is the time going?? Last week we did two step stamping and created a little card holder that I had cased from a swap received at the last training from the very talented Jo the example that she made held some sweets, but I have adapted the design to hold 3x3 cards instead of making a box. I have used the colours ruby red, summer sun and only orange - all of which are due to retire, they look great when using greenhouse garden. So for this class we made the card holder and decorated it and then we made 6 cards to go inside. The colours look great together and we had a lot of fun on the night. I was even brave enough to use one of the border punches in my design! If you know me along with brayering the border punches were something that I always struggled with.
I have stamped on a piece of whisper white card and then matted this on the card stock with the first layer having the border punch on I have then repeated the card just changing the order of the matting each time. I love the effect that you get with this stamp set and it has quickly become one of my favourites.
For this class we also did a 3D item - not your usual item in a card class but every bit as enjoyable to stamp. I found these jars in IKEA and have stamped them using white staz on - this is pretty difficult and does take some patience to get a perfect image but I am sure that you will agree well worth it. I have used two stamps from boroque motifs and stamped around the jar and then on the lid as well. To show how effective this looks when full I have put some candles in the jar that matched the colours that we were using in the class as a surprise for my ladies!
I hope you like the projects and thanks for looking - the next class that I am doing will be posted soon why not come along and join in the fun!

Crafting area...

Well as many of you know I have recently left full time work on a career break to be with my boys and this has meant that I am able to devote some much needed time to crafting HOORAH! I did not think that I would be able to to with the boys being home for the summer however I have managed quite a lot and am really enjoying starting new regular classes starting up a meet up group as well as having a tidy house and clean floors!
As I have been doing more crafting I have decided to move everything off my dining room table and craft in my bedroom where all my stuff is. Most of it is stored in storage boxes under the bed but thee was an increasing number of boxes that were creeping around the edge of my room...
I talked hubby into a morning trip to IKEA so that we could pick a new chest of drawers to go in the corner of our (my) room to store craft stuff in and get rid of all the boxes! This is what was happening in our room as hubby was trying to to build the drawers he had two very keen helpers that were bordering on being somewhat of a hindrance! As you can see from my bed I needed to get this built and all the stuff on the bed away!
I have organised all my stash and that has taken many days but I feel now I am in a better position to be productive and work on not only building my classes but my SU business going forward over the next few months. I have had some exciting enquiries re my crafting over the last weeks and I will keep you posted on where that is headed.
Also check back for future classes there are a couple of different ones planned in coming weeks not just cards! Don't worry though they all involve stamping! Thanks for looking - Debbi x x x

A challenge card

Whilst on the phone to Helen on Sunday evening she pointed me in the direction of the card positioning blog - brilliant! It has so many great ideas and I have added another favourtite...
The card I am sharing today is using bird on a branch and I have followed the sketch but made my design very simple I was looking at first to use DSP and then I thought against this as I didn't want to take away from the image. So for my card I have used a basic black card blank and teamed this with tempting turquoise I have stamped the image in basic black and tempting turquoise I have then mounted this on matching card stock and then added three plain tempting turquoise panels to the card black on which I have inked the edges.
I hope you like the card and thanks for looking - I feel a new challenge may need to be done each week now! Debbi x x x

Two Step Stamping...

Here is another card for you using one of the reduced sets from this months promotion. I have used bird on a branch and for the last couple of months kind of 'gone off ' this set but am pleased with the card.

I have stamped the tree image on a whisper white panel in basic grey and then used the stamp a ma jig to add the flowers to the tree in melon mambo. I then added the bird to the image on a dimensional. I have inked the edges of the panel and mounted this on a panel of melon mambo and then again on to basic grey. I have then inked the edges of a melon mambo card blank in basic grey and stamped the sentiment at the bottom in basic grey also.
I hope you like the card, I have kept the card very simple so as not to take away from the effect of the image. Thanks for looking - Debbi x x x

Another Two Step...

Ok quick post this evening as I feel that I have not put my laptop down since early evening! I am working on a website that is enjoyable but very tiresome and I am also trying to delete some of the thousands of pictures that I seem to have copies of!
Tonights card is using another of the sets that is currently reduced Loads of love and I have made a card that is using colours that are shortly to retire - I will miss these... pixie pink, brocade blue and gable green
I have painted the the truck using basic grey and ballet blue and an aqua painter slowly building up the colour to the edges. I have stamped the flowers on the back of the truck and painted these using gable green, summer sun and pixie pink. I have inked the edges of the panel in pixie pink and then mounted on card stock and then again on ballet blue.
I have added a panel of gable green and ballet blue to the left hand side of the card I have stamped the sentiment from occasional greeting in the top right of the card also in basic grey.
I hope you like the card and thanks for looking! Debbi x x x
Check back later in the week for details of an evening of crafting coming up that will see some real bargains - my RETIRING EVENING - to be held in honour of the colours that are going and also the stamp sets too!

CHRISTMAS IS COMING...

I decided that I would be on the ball this year and get some Christmas stamps in to get ahead... I love this stamp set so simple but the cards that you can create are endless so many ideas when I look at it. So I have stuck to traditional colours for this card using real red, garden green and chocolate chip. I have stamped the santa, tree and reindeer in a row and then trimmed this into a panel. I have then mounted this onto cardstock in the same three colours. On the card blank I stamped the snowflake from the same set and then added a list shimmering of dazzling diamonds using the two way glue pen. I stamped the sentiment in chocolate chip and inked the edges of this I matted this in the same colour card stock as the image panel.
I hope you like the card and thanks for looking - Debbi x x x

Morning! Back to blogging...

Over the last few days I have been unable to blog as (my facebook friends will be aware!) my little one has managed to reach up to my laptop and remove my memory card and put it somewhere safe! We have hunted high and low and the card is nowhere to be seen - So I have been using hubby's camera in the meantime, but I now have a new memory card and we are off and running again!
The card I am sharing today is one that I made for a recent meeting with my SU team, we met had lunch and did some crafting it was a great afternoon and I got some great swaps from them and the lovely Helen even provided a make and take for us that I will share later!
The theme of the swap was two step stamping because of the great offer that Stampin Up! have on some of the sets at the moment with 20% off (email me for further details) I decided to use one of my newest sets trendy trees with the matching wheel funky forest and also another two step stamping set tiny tags. I have used the colours chocolate chip, old olive and ruby red. I have wheeled a panel of the trees and inked the edges of this in ruby red. I have stamped the tree trunk in close to cocoa and then added the top of the tree using the stamp a majig and the rock and roll technique. I inked up the treetop in ruby red and then rock and rolled the stamp in old olive. I have added a strip old olive ribbon with knotted detail and I have inked the edge of the panel. I have stamped the tiny vine from tiny tags in the top right hand corner and then added three tags using a brad I have stamped friend, love and handcrafted on these and angled them.
I hope you like the card and thanks for looking your comments are appreciated - Debbi x x x

Another card...

So this weekend saw my anniversary and I wanted to do a card that used brayering - I definately need the practice and this is something that the lovely Helen had made me do a couple of days ago when showing us a couple of techniques. I will hold my hands up and admit that I find it very difficult and it is something that I just cannot get to look as I want it to - but this card did turn out a lot better than my previous attempts so I am improving!
I have used the stamp sets Vintage vogue and together forever by stampin up and their colours too.
For this card I used a panel of very vanilla and have brayered at each side of the panel I have used old olive and perfect plum and have graduated this into the centre of the piece. I have stamped the vine up the right hand side of the panel and also stamped a couple of images off. I then added dazzling diamonds to the flowers of the vine with the glue pen. The sentiment is stamped in perfect plum to the right hand side of the panel.
I have added a strip of perfect plum ribbon to the top of the panel and then mounted this onto a piece of old olive card stock I have inked the edges of the to add a bit of definition.and then mounted this onto  the card blank that is perfect plum and i have also inked the edges to this.
I hope you like the card - hubby did and I have also added a picture of the roses that he bought me - beautiful!

Anniversaries...

This week sees both my best friends and our anniversary and mine so the first card that I will show you is the one that I made for her. I have used Stampin' Up products and I have used the colours purple plum and certainly celery as her bedroom is purple - I have never used these colours together but love them! I have used the vine from the vintage vogue set and also the together forever sentiment. I have stamped the vine on very vanilla card and then inked the edges in plum - I mounted this on certainly celery card stock on which I had also stamped the vine on and then onto a card blank that was perfect plum. I have stamped the sentiment in the bottom right of the card and added some dazzling diamonds to the vine for added sparkle - I love the effect that you get from these and they last for ages (they also cover you if you are not careful, but that just adds to the glamour!) On the second picture you can see a close up of the glitter how fine it is and the great effect created. If you would like more information on the products available please get in contact - check back later for class details coming up!
cannot get this pic to flip the right way!
I hope you like the card and thanks for looking - your comments are appreciated Debbi x x x
Will try and add the second picture later for some reason will not load!

boys cards...

I think we all find doing mens/boys cards a bit difficult and I always draw a blank at first when trying to create one, which is why i am so pleased with fox and friends from SU! I have made many cards using this set and love the versatility of the set.
For this card I stamped three animals in blue onto whisper white card stock and then punched them out. I mounted them using dimensionals onto brocade blue card stock and then again onto a panel of soft suede card. This is then mounted onto a brocade blue card blank and I have stamped celebrate across the middle of the card from wonderful words...

Two Step Stamping...

So for the promotion this month Stampin' Up! are offering a great discount on selected stamp sets see below. I created this card a couple of weeks ago for my sister in law and I love the effect of the bold panel of flowers - I love how easy it is to create something that really stands out with this stamp set. It look good using subtle colours as well as bold combinations and there is so much scope of what can be created.
I have stamped on whisper white card stock and I have used basic grey to stamp the middle of the flowers. I have then inked the edges to the panel and mounted this on a real red card blank. The sentiment also in basic grey is to the top left of the card.
I hope you like the card and if you would like to order this stamp set please contact me for details! Thanks for looking and your comments are appreciated - Debbi x x x

Two Step Stamping...

Good Morning blogg Hoppers! I hope that you are enjoying your morning and seeing lots of inspiration on your journey... Thank you to Sarah for organising the blog hop for us this morning. If you have joined me from  Sheryls blog welcome and I am sure you liked her project as much as I did...
This morning I am sharing with you a first for me a 12x12 scrapbook layout that is showing you the stamp set Trendy Trees and Tiny Tags. I have scrapped some of the photos that were taken at the stampin' up convention last year in Frankfurt where we had a fabulous time and I met some lovely people.
For my page I have started with a piece of white textured paper and inked the edges in rose red I have added a length of striped ribbed to the left hand side of the layout and tied a knot in this. I have added the title to this and punched this out and mounted it again adding two tiny tags and a brad to decorate. It is stuck with tombow and the circles are mounted with dimensionals.
I have wheeled two strips of funky trees in chocolate chip and inked the edges of this with old olive. I have added 7 photos across the page and secured these with double side tape. Randomly placed across the photos are trees that I have used the rock and roll technique with and punched these out mounting these on rose red card, I have stamped them in close to cocoa and then rose red and old olive - some of the trees have been stamped off. For trees I have used the stamp-a-ma-jig so that the tree tops are in exactly the right place. This is a great tool to use and means that for sets where there is two step stamping involved - your stamping is going to be spot on - something that I need!
The tiny tags that I have added I have stamped in rose red and basic black to make them stand out. I have attached them with the clear rhinestone brads and the tag behind is stamped with the vine stamp in old olive.
I hope you like my layout - not very experienced at scrapbooking but I have had a go!
So now you continue on your journey to Gems blog and again I am sure you will love what she has created for you! Have a great Sunday everyone and enjoy the blog hop!
